Château Valandraud 2011  93 points : “This is well toasted, with mocha and cocoa notes framing the core of ripe plum, blackberry and boysenberry fruit. Shows an echo of ganache through the finish. Best from 2015 through 2025.” - JM

Château Sansonnet  2011  90 points :  “This has heft and depth, but relies more on purity, with a sleek core of damson plum, anise and raspberry fruit, melded with a racy, chalk-tinged spine. Shows a floral echo through the finish. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2015 through 2021. 1,690 cases made.   –JM
