Antonio Galloni a publié son rapport sur le millésime 2016  sur son site Vinous.  Petit tour d'horizon pour nos vins :

Chateau Valandraud 2016   94-97  : The 2016 Valandraud is fabulous. Rich, exotic and plush on the palate, it exudes raciness in all of its dimensions. Sweet toasted oak, crème de cassis, raspberry jam, spice and floral notes all run through the 2016. Even with all of its richness, it remains light on its feet for such a big wine, especially as it opens up in the glass. There is plenty of depth and concentration, that is for sure, but the 2016 also retains freshness as well as energy, with a good deal of tannin underpinning the fruit. Quite simply, this is a stellar Valandraud.

Virginie de Valandraud 2016  90-92 : The 2016 Virginie de Valandraud is a striking second wine. Vibrant acids give the flavors pop and aromatic lift, both of which play nicely off the plump fruit. Dark red cherry, plum, rose petal and sweet spices build into the fleshy, voluptuous finish. What a gorgeous wine this is!

L'Interdit de Valandraud 2016  92-95 : One of the real gems of the vintage, the 2016 L'Interdit de Valandraud emerges from a collection of parcels that the authorities did not recognize as part of Valandraud (because of their location) during the 2012 classification of properties. This 100% Merlot exudes depth, power and intensity. Beams of tannin shape the wine and also seem to give energy to its flavors. Graphite, smoke, lavender, bittersweet chocolate, licorice and crème de cassis are fused together in a deep, unctuous wine of real personality and pedigree.

Clos Badon Thunevin 2016  89-92 : The 2016 Clos Badon is round, succulent and quite open today. Ripe black cherry, plum, mocha, chocolate and spice are fused together in a deep, unctuous Saint Émilion built on texture and juiciness. The 2016 is a gorgeous modern Saint Émilion with no hard edges and plenty of personality. The blend is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.

Clos du Beau Père 2016    91-94 : The 2016 Le Clos du Beau-Père looks like it will offer considerable pleasure right out of the gate. Succulent black cherry, plum, chocolate, spice and sweet French oak give the wine its racy, voluptuous personality. The 2016 is not an especially subtle nor complex wine, but it scores big in the pleasure department. Lavender, rose petal and sweet spice notes add lift. The 100% new oak is already very nicely integrated.

Domaine des Sabines 2016   90-92 :  The 2016 Domaine des Sabines is supple, open-knit and flat-out delicious. Sweet red cherry, plum and blood orange fruit notes are pushed forward, while ripe, silky tannins give the wine its soft contours. Creamy and ample on the palate, with terrific aromatic lift and overall brightness, the 2016 is absolutely impeccable. I loved it.

Yves Beck a lui aussi publié son rapport  et a donné la note de  96-97 pour Valandraud  et 92-93 pour Virginie de Valandraud
